This paper addresses the role of social emotional competence in the emotional and behavioral problems and learning outcomes of preschool children based on their parents’ and teachers’ evaluations. In this study, we compared the perceptions of teachers and parents when evaluating the same child using the multi-informant assessment. Teacher education has long been at the heart of pedagogical research. However, especially if we consider the recent Italian pedagogical research, we observe that most of the attention has been devoted to disciplinary and didactic skills, which are a necessary but not sufficient condition for the acquisition of an adequate professional profile. Kvalifikācijas darbs “5-6 gadus vecu bērnu sociāli emocionālās kompetences nozīme socializācijas procesā pirmsskolas izglītības iestādē” ir izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātes Pedagoģijas, psiholoģijas un mākslas fakultātes Pedagoģijas nodaļā.
